Key parameters for filter belt selection
Air Permeability & Flow Rates
Air permeability (measured in l/m²/s or CFM) is a decisive factor for drainage speed and cake formation. A higher permeability allows for faster processing but may affect particle retention. We offer a spectrum from low-permeability dryer belts to high-flow thickener belts.
Aperture & Particle Retention
The aperture size (µm) determines which particles are retained and which pass through the mesh. Choosing the correct aperture is a balance between preventing “blinding” (clogging of the belt) and achieving the required filtrate clarity.
Mechanical Stability: Thickness & Weight
Industrial filter belts must withstand high tensile forces, especially in belt filter presses. A higher weight (g/m²) and specific thickness often correlate with increased mechanical lifetime and resistance to abrasion.
Seam Types & Installation
The choice of seam—whether stainless steel clipper seams, woven-in pin seams, or endless belts—depends on your equipment and required downtime. We provide custom seam solutions for easy installation and maximum strength.
FAQ on Filter Belts
Can I get a filter belt in a custom width?
Yes, all our filter belts can be customized to your specific machine dimensions, including reinforced edges and specific seam types.
How do I find an equivalent to my current competitor belt?
You can use our search bar to look for technical specs or contact us directly for a cross-reference check.
What information is needed for a quote?
Ideally, we need the required air permeability, dimensions (width x length), the type of medium being filtered, and the preferred seam type.
Do you offer on-site installation support?
Please contact our technical team to discuss installation requirements and support for your specific location.
